Dempley’s Annual Christmas Party

Saturday, December 3rd

With good food, yummy desserts, Chinese gift exchange and the 25 club members that attended, it was all perfect for the making of a fun evening. Rumor has it that this was a “great party”! Thank you once again, Wanda and Bob for your warm hospitality.

9th Annual Louisvillestreets.com Toys for Tots Car Cruise

FCCC Christmas Party

     Saturday, December 17th

The FCCC annual Christmas party was held at the Embassy Suites Louisville (North Hurstbourne) in their beautiful ballroom. The evening started in the cocktail lounge with drinks and followed by a buffet dinner along with tasty desserts. The club members had the privilege of listening and dancing to Jonathan Rideout sing, which he did a phenomenal job and made the evening feel very festive and special. The dance floor stayed crowded with couples slow dancing and then getting their groove on when the music changed to rock and roll, they brought down the house! It would not be a party without a conga line, and that we had.

Through out the evening there were drawings and prizes handed out and if you did not hear your number called, it was okay because no one left empty handed, each couple went home with a large FCCC ornament made by CarArt. Troy Bennett showed a DVD which he had assembled of club members at different functions through out 2011 along with music to fit each occasion. Troy has a knack for choosing the appropriate music which makes for a fantastic DVD. Good job! Brenda and Mike Edelen returned the Ballicks dressed as Santa and the Misses in a sleigh and were passed to Dody and Larry Searcy. Mike Bryant was honored with an “Extra Mile” award for the deed he performed for James Frederic aka “Ferd” Day at the Track. Pat Shields received an award for best attendance, congratulations to you both! A lot of members made the comment that this was the best Christmas party we ever had, I would have to agree.

After the Christmas party there was an after party for those that spent the night at the hotel. Many members that attended changed out of their party clothes into pj’s or comfy clothes and made their way to Laura and Butch’s room. A lot of laughter, music, snacking, chatting and at 2am the party was over and back to our own rooms for some much needed rest. Later on that morning we met for breakfast and then said our goodbyes, unfortunately, all good things must come to an end…

 UPCOMING EVENTS FOR JANUARY

Out with the Old…in with the New

 Darlena Conti  Rebecca Marrow

2010 & 2011 FCCC Secretary

Darlena Conti

To my fellow club members I want to take the opportunity to express my appreciation for allowing me to be your secretary for the passed two years. After writing 24 newsletters, I can not say honestly that I have enjoyed every minute; however, I can say that I have enjoyed spending time with you at our many events and car shows. I want to thank my husband, Jim Conti for his support and for critiquing the newsletter every month; I could not have done it without him. Butch Hume never missed an opportunity to pick up the phone and say, well done. Troy Bennett was always there to answer any questions I had and early in, I had a lot. And last but certainly not least to my friend, Annette Shields for her steady encouragement, it was noted and much appreciated. I want to also thank those who took their time to write an article or articles for the newsletter – John Ballard, Laura Wood, Dave Roskowski, Dody Searcy, Annette Shields, Georgette Walter,

John Honadel, Michael Betz, Wanda Dempley, Julia Zachary, and David & Clara Schlaug, it was greatly appreciated.

I now plan on focusing my attention on much needed work projects around my house such as painting and landscaping. I look forward to seeing you in 2012 at the many FCCC functions.

I am passing the torch on to our new secretary, Rebecca Marrow. If you have not had the pleasure of meeting Rebecca, she and her husband James join the FCCC in 2009. They drive a C-4, 1994 white coupe Corvette.
