Welcome to the Falls City Corvette Club website!
Our club was started in 1964 and is the oldest Corvette Club in Kentucky with continuous years in existence since its beginning. We are one of the largest Corvette clubs in the Louisville area with a current membership of over 100 members.
FCCC was started in 1964 by a group of guys drinking Falls City beer at a bar called Gordon’s Corner. The group of “good old boys” had the idea to start a men’s only club and name it after the beer they were drinking. The guys soon found out there was a lot of work to do so they decided to allow wives to join as well as any lady Corvette owners. Over the years, our profile has changed and at present, 42% of our members are women-many of whom are or have been officers.
We are very proud of our motto—“Join for the car-Stay for the friends!” We feel that when you join Falls City Corvette Club, you do more that just join a car club. You become a part of our family!
Through the years, the club has had several sponsors starting with New Albany Motors (now known as Coyle Chevrolet). Jim Booher Chevrolet, New World Chevrolet and Bob Hook Chevrolet have also been sponsors. Our sponsor for many years now has been Bachman Auto Group. The Bachman group is a very supportive sponsor and has been involved in many of our annual car shows (we have hosted well over 20 shows). Our shows are charity based and through our partnership with Bachman we have been able to raise funds for many wonderful charities including American Heart Association, Susan B. Kolman Breast Cancer, Humane Society (both the local branch and a No-Kill Shelter in Central Kentucky. For the last 6 years our shows have raised money for the Louisville Metro Relief Fund that provides financial help for injured officers. We are currently partnering with the Shriners/Kosair for our 2023 show.
Our club has participated in many car shows, cruises, high-school homecomings and local parades. We are second in tenure only to the Shriners in our 35-year participation in the annual Jeffersontown Parade. We also participated in the nationally known Carl Casper Custom Auto Show in Louisville, Kentucky between the years of 1984 to the final show in 2017. Our elaborate and detailed club displays-created and built by our members-received 1st place trophies every year but four when we received 2nd place honors!
We have continued to expand our communication formats from a simple snail-mail newsletter to our current Constant Contact mailings, an open Facebook page, a Members Only Facebook page, and the revival of our Web page.
We have about 40 activities each year based on the club input/previous turnout. Each month we have a scheduled Sunday drive to a different restaurant as well as “pop-up” events. We attend car shows and cruises together and have several overnight trips. Members from our club have participated in the St. Jude drives for the past several years. We have a Thanksgiving and Christmas party as well as Super bowl and Derby events. Our annual car show is a great event that is made possible through the teamwork of the members! Everyone is encouraged to participate in the show to help raise money for our charity.
Our club meets January-November on the 3rd Wednesday of each month as the Kosair/Shriner Center located at 4120 Bardstown Road in Louisville, Ky. The meeting is from 7-8pm. Dinner is available between 5-7pm.
I have been honored to be a member of FCCC for over 45 years and have served as President for the last 39 years. I have been blessed with good officers and wonderful members/friends! I am proud to be a member of this club and I deeply appreciate the time and energy the members put in to make it one of the best Corvette clubs in this area. If you think this sounds like a club you would like to meet or learn more about, I encourage you to attend a meeting or reach out to one of the officers listed below. We would be happy to meet you and welcome you as a member and part of our family!
